Ball Sizes

Arm Lengths

What weights are recommended for the different ball sizes?

A size: 0.56" / 14 mm – up to 0.25 kg (0.5 lbs)

B size: 1" / 25 mm – up to 1 kg (2 lbs), 0.5 kg in heavy-duty applications
Up to 2.3 kg (5 lbs) in low vibration environments

C size: 1.5" / 38 mm – up to 2 kg (4 lbs), 1.5 kg heavy-duty
Up to 4.5 kg (10 lbs) in low vibration environments

D size: 2.25" / 57 mm – up to 3 kg (6 lbs), 2.3 kg heavy-duty
Up to 6.8 kg (15 lbs) in low vibration environments

E size: 3.38" / 86 mm – up to 7 kg (15 lbs), 4.5 kg heavy-duty
Up to 13.6 kg (30 lbs) in low vibration environments

Important: These values are guidelines. Mounting angle, vibration, and environment will affect performance. Always test your setup.

Examples:
Marine: use lower limits on fast boats, higher on stable vessels.
Forklifts: use lower limits due to shocks and vibration.
Motorcycles: stay at or below lower limits, especially for cameras.

Cosmetic Imperfections

Due to the manufacturing and molding process used for RAM® Mounts components, minor cosmetic imperfections may occasionally appear on certain parts of a product.

The most common area is the aluminum neck directly beneath the rubber ball, where small marks, exposed aluminum, or minor coating imperfections can occur as part of the molding and clamping process during production.

These cosmetic variations are considered normal manufacturing characteristics and do not affect the product’s functionality, strength, durability, or overall performance.
