Reading part numbers

The letter after RAM tells you the ball size: RAM-B-166 uses a 1″ B ball, while RAM-D-201 uses a 2.25″ D ball. C size parts are the exception and carry no letter, so RAM-201U is a C size arm.

The RAM® Large Round Plate with Ball – D Size (RAM-D-202) features a 3.68" diameter round plate with an integrated 2.25" rubber ball. Compatible with all D size RAM® components, this base can be attached to a device with a matching hole pattern or drilled down to a flat surface for permanent installation. The pre-drilled hole pattern includes two holes at 180 degrees and three holes at 120 degrees, providing multiple mounting options.
